A Valentine’s Surprise for Waffles! 💌🐶

It was a chilly February morning, and Grace sat at the kitchen table, carefully folding pink and red paper into Valentine’s cards. Waffles sat beside her, tail wagging, watching every move.

“What are you doing, Grace?” Waffles asked with a curious tilt of her head.

“I’m making Valentine’s cards for my friends,” Grace said, gluing a heart onto one of the cards. “It’s a special day to show people—and pets—we love them!”

Waffles’ ears perked up. “That sounds fun! Can I make one too?”

Grace giggled. “Dogs don’t really make cards, Waffles.”

Waffles huffed and flopped onto her back. “But I want to tell my friends I love them too! Maybe I could send them a belly rub?”

Grace laughed. “Belly rubs don’t fit in an envelope, silly!”

Just then, Mom walked in with a plate of heart-shaped cookies. “Grace, would you like to bring some Valentine’s treats to school today?”

Grace nodded excitedly, then turned to Waffles. “Wait here, I’ll be right back!” She ran off to pack her bag.

Waffles sat up and sniffed the air. The cookies smelled so good—but she remembered what Grace always said. “No chocolate for dogs.” She sighed. Why couldn’t dogs have Valentine’s treats? It didn’t seem fair!

Just then, Mom knelt down and placed a small pink box on the floor. “This is for you, Waffles.”

Waffles blinked. For me?! She sniffed the box and wagged her tail super fast. Inside was a special heart-shaped dog treat! Her very own Valentine’s gift!

Grace returned just in time to see Waffles crunching happily on her treat. “Surprise! I asked Mom to get you a Valentine too!”

Waffles licked Grace’s cheek. “This is the best Valentine’s Day EVER!”

Grace giggled. “Happy Valentine’s Day, Waffles.”
